Giants on a mission to bring in volleyball to every centre in London

Crystal Palace National Sports Centre has been pleased to announce the arrival of Little Giants Volleyball Club who have chosen the centre as their first venue outside Clapham, the usual location for their various open sessions and League trainings. The official launch is on Friday evening 13th April with the start of the first open volleyball session at the centre.

Little Giants Volleyball currently uses four Better GLL centres across London including the iconic Copper Box for their regular tournaments.

Through the partnership agreement with Better GLL, there are proposals to launch a new junior programme to provide a clear pathway from learning to club performance at Crystal Palace NSC. The new sessions will also support selection to the club’s London League teams which are expected to grow in numbers for 2018/19 season . As well as a junior programme the club aims to introduce senior/elderly volleyball sessions to provide fun sessions for the local community to support government’s “overcome loneliness” project.

Club Director Cisel concluded, "At Little Giants Volleyball, we have been investing time over numerous meetings with the centre’s management in the past two years. We are proud that we’re finally bringing indoor volleyball back to this iconic building. We look forward to playing volleyball at our brand new venue as well as expanding Giants within the local community for any age and ability groups. "

Stuart Hutchison, General Manager at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre said, “The centre team are looking forward to working with the club and developing the new working relationship that is in place. The Crystal Palace NSC venue offers fantastic opportunities for volleyball with the double courts available and we are looking forward to working with Little Giants on the initiatives they have planned to make volleyball participation accessible for everyone”
