"At London Giants volleyball club, the youngest players exceeded all expectations in England’s national Junior Grand Prix. Always ambitious, the club entered the top tier competition with its boys’ under 16 and under 18. The under 18s, effectively finishing ninth in the country and the under 16s finished fourth in the country.
London Giants U18, U16 and U15 girls have been dominating their individual competitions across all their pools in T2.
London Giants are extremely proud of how their juniors have progressed in the competitions. For many this was their first experience of competing in this way, each member that has participated has shown resilience, commitment and skill. London Giants would like to extend their appreciation to the parents who have supported their children through this process, and have helped the club in supporting their endeavours with respect to the junior competitions. As well as every sports hall that the club is training at for being able to accommodate them, particularly under circumstances of short notice. London Giants are in a great position with many plans for the future, many ideas and propositions for how this established community can continue growing and thriving.
Some comments from the U18 and U16 Boys’ coach:
“We are extremely proud of the achievement and the journey we went through all together.
As much as results aren’t the most important, it is really impressive and remarkable how our U16 and U18 boys have performed in Volleyball England Grand Prix series.
Their passion, dedication and commitment to volleyball have paid off. The boys have been working hard almost every day but what’s most astonishing is that they have trained as a team only a few months and that some of them have only started to play last year and a few others are travelling to the trainings from very far away parts of the city and some others do not speak a word , nevertheless fully able to communicate the love for the sport. As their coach, I couldn’t be more proud of each single one of them and I’m looking forward to the new season aiming to work towards even better results as a team!”
Some comments from the U18, U16 and U15 Girls’ coach:
“I am really proud of the achievements of the junior girls team. The girls have competed in the U15, U16 and U18 competitions, bringing home some great results and showing all the commitment and love for this sport. The club has given a lot of support to this new generation of volleyball players, which had the chance to be trained twice weekly and join several open sessions during the week in order to improve their volleyball and team skills. These young players might become the new generation of high-level volleyball players of the country and spread the passion for this sport to a bigger audience in England”
The club is extremely proud of how its juniors have played this season and looks forward to what the future brings.
