In a significant milestone for the London Giants Women’s, they have secured their promotion to the upper division in National English Volleyball League after their latest victory on the weekend.
The Giants were metronomically efficient in clocking up a 25-19, 25-8, 25-20 victory, making it 12 wins from 12 and leaving the team unbeaten so far only with 1 set loss.
Despite having two games left to play, their early promotion has already been announced by Volleyball England.
The promotion of the London Giants women's team to the 1st Division of the NVL is a testament to their unwavering dedication and hard work. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles along the way, the team remained steadfast in their pursuit of success. Whether on the court or in training sessions, each member of the team demonstrated a relentless commitment to improving their skills and pushing their limits.
As the London Giants women's team looks ahead to the upcoming 2024/25 season, anticipation fills the air. The promotion to the 1st Division of the NVL offers an exciting opportunity for growth and development. It presents the team with a new set of challenges and opponents, providing them with the perfect platform to showcase their talents and further solidify their position within the league.
In reflecting on the journey of the women’s team this season, the coach Simon Roscoe said:
“When I took on the role at the start of the season I wanted to implement a fast and dynamic attack to challenge opposition defence, which the team have really embraced as the season has progressed. I’m particularly proud of the teams development in a short space of time and how we have been able to rely upon the whole squad throughout the season, whilst still maintaining a high level of performance.
Winning the title with two games still to play (having only dropped one set thus far) shows the teams unrelenting desire for success. Even after winning the game to clinch the title the teams focus immediately switched to ensuring they have an unbeaten season to cap off the success.
We’re already now starting to shift our attention to next season and how we can bring further success to the club.”
As the team will embark on the next chapter of their journey is 2024/25 league season, the team stands poised to make an even greater impact within the league.
